ABOUT ME

Hello!

My name is Kristyn Birdsong!  I will be teaching your brilliant 3rd Graders this year.  First let me say how honored I am to have this opportunity!! Teaching has been a dream of mine ever since I was a little girl!

I joined Hampton Cove Elementary School in 2012 upon graduating Athens State University with my Bachelor's Degree with a major in Elementary Education K-6th grade and a minor in Technology.

I have been married to my wonderful Husband, Brian for 11 years, and we have three  children.  We have a daughter named Nakomi who is 7, a son Kenton who is 4, and another daughter Peyton who is 2.  In my spare time I enjoy reading, shopping, and spending time with friends and family.

I am looking forward to building wonderful relationships with each of you and your children this year.  I want to inspire them to develop and learn to their greatest potential possible.

If you ever want to meet with me on the progress of your child or to discuss various other learning techniques or practices please feel free to contact me to set up a meeting.   Your child is my priority and my goal is to ensure that your child is successful.

Sincerely,

My Philosophy on Teaching

Teaching is not simply a daily occupation or profession, but a lifelong calling.  Teachers are one of the most critical elements in a child’s life for projecting positive reinforcement, instilling self-confidence, and defining each individual’s success.  All students have the ability to learn if they are placed in a positive and safe environment equipped with the tools for successful learning.  A student can achieve greatness and success in all goals and dreams when their individualism is embraced and their creativity is encouraged. Teachers must lay the educational framework necessary that will serve as the vehicles necessary for propelling students to achieve excellence in all areas of life.  My values and mission will ensure that students receive knowledge through many various learning efforts and that no student is left behind. Regardless of what learning technique or methodology is required my role is to ensure that ALL students can succeed.
