Greetings Parents!  Welcome to Mrs. Birdsong's 3rd Grade Classroom.  I am so happy that you are here to visit my site to discover all the fun and learning that your third graders will be doing this year.  Third grade is a very fun year and we have lots of fun activities and learning experiences that we will be incorporating into our schedules to re-enforce all the important educational framework and subject material we cover. 

 

My goal is to ensure that you as parents are always kept informed and aware of what is going on in the classroom and what you can expect that your child will be learning throughout the academic school year.  My goal is to always provide a weekly newsletter as to the classroom happenings and all the upcoming school events and fundraisers.  I realize that time is a valuable resource and we all live in a face paced world.  For that reason I want you to know that your time is valuable and I am very flexible to meet with you and discuss your child’s progress throughout the year and on an ad hoc forum when you feel a conference is needed to discuss your children’s learning, teaching methods, or any other topic of discussion that you deem necessary in the education of your child. 

 

In addition, to a weekly classroom newsletter I also strive to send home individual progress notifications on a quarterly basis.  Report Cards will be sent home once every 8 weeks for a total of 5 reporting periods throughout the year.  However, my individual progress report is a brief summary on your child's specific accomplished areas of study or various topics and coursework in which your child may need additional study or instruction.

 

My goal is to provide open lines of communication.  The most often derived misconceptions are developed due to a lack of communication between parents, students, and your child’s teachers.  I will also be keeping this site updated periodically on menus, special events, and upcoming important dates.  Please feel free to drop by my site as often as you like to follow our progress and upcoming events.
