WHO GIVES A FLIP......???? no pun intended
Who gives a flip about our students and their achievements?
I DO!! :)
I want them to be successful and engaged in their learning.
Have you heard the term "Flipped Classroom"
It's a twist on the traditional classroom setting. Rather than lecturing all day and assigning homework- the teacher records his / her lessons online, and the students view the material at home, at their own pace. They watch the content, be it power point, you tube, podcast, etc. and are able to rewind, pause, take notes, post questions to their classmates and the teacher; then the next day, they do their homework during class time. The teacher is then available to rotate around the room and spend quality time with the students to make sure they understand the contenct.
This method has been around for years, and is becoming more and more popular. Students and teachers are seeing amazing results!
I have a degree in technology, and have been presenting this idea during staff meetings. I am getting great feedback, and we hope to implement these strategies in the near future.
We will definetly need parent/guardian involvement, and hope to have a meeting in the Fall! :)
Stay tuned!
